Samuel’s TV and film credits set the bar high from the outset. His first on-screen appearance was in the late Victoria Wood’s BAFTA winning drama, Housewife 49. His first movie credit was as Tim, opposite Sally Hawkins, in Mike Leigh’s Oscar™ nominated, Happy Go Lucky. This led to roles in other prestigious movies including Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows and Jane Campion’s Bright Star. On British TV he played DC Darren Law in the BAFTA winning ITV drama Appropriate Adult opposite Dominic West and Emily Watson. In the U.S. He is best known for his ruthless, malevolent portrayal of John Graves Simcoe in AMC’s Turn: Washington’s Spies. Recent recurring and guest star roles include; Salem, The Librarians, Counterpart, Marvel’s Agents of Shield and The Magicians.

Samuel can currently be seen in the IFC World War II movie, A Call To Spy.
